Woke up this morning after much rain last night and found this treasure in the garden. June is such a special time of year, the light illuminated the beauty that has been awaken…find your treasure today!

Here’s a good reason to take a trip to the Guilford Green on a beautiful June day like today! I just hung a selection of photography at a special gathering spot in the heart of Guilford, Cilantro’s Specialty Food, 85 Whitfield Street.  Stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, and look at summer photos.  Cilantro’s is another location that sell my photo card line Intimate Landscapes.   This Saturday June 11th I will be joining Rebecca and Rob Bunting for an Open Studio afternoon, 133 Whitfield Street,  right down from Cilantro’s.  The studio barn will be open from 10am – 4pm, selling  photos, amazing jewelry, and garden sculptures.  This will be during the Secret Garden Tour of Guilford that supports the ABC program.   Put it on your calendar!  Stop by and say hello…Happy June!

The warm summer like weather is finally gracing up with it’s goodness. I have been out photographing, teaching, and working on a few upcoming projects.  Most recently I want to share a new location that will be selling a selection of my Intimate Landscapes Photo Card Collection. CONNfetti, located on 13 Golden Street in New London, CT.  Barbara Ford is the owner and her concept is to feature all products made in Connecticut.  She is in the heart of New London just up the street from the ferries and train station and around the corner from Hygienic Art Gallery.  Another reason to visit New London,CT. Happy May to all and I promise to keep up with the blog!!!!! Much to share….

This is the collaboration we have been working on for the past year.  Over the past few months I have shared some of the work in progress photos.  It is amazing to see how the photographs are interpreted through another artistic medium.  I hope you will have a chance to stop by and enjoy the collaboration.  The show will be on exhibition until June 2011.  The gallery hours are W-F 10-4pm.

With all the snow and real winter weather this year…it is refreshing to find a beautiful bloom in the midst of a cold day.  The winter light has it’s own special beauty and mystery. Enjoy the light!

As the New Year begins, take time to explore the creative process and interaction with the winter light through the medium of photography. What is your inspiration or motivation for creating a photograph? Where do your ideas come from? Do you have a project you are interested in exploring and need some direction? This workshop will explore all of these areas and more. The workshop is open to all levels and not limited to film or digital. Please bring your camera and samples of your photography.

I met with some of the fabric artists from the Sisters in Cloth group last Friday.  We are all in the process of finishing up our projects for the collaborative exhibition coming up in New Haven.  As I get more details on the exhibition, I will post them.  Here are a few photos from last Friday.

As 2010 is coming to a close, I wanted to send off a Happy New Year to all!  It has been a full year.  One of my “ongoing” resolutions for this coming year is to keep up with the blog, update the website, and share information about upcoming events, programs, thoughts and ideas.  As I reflect on the past year, I am grateful for all the opportunities and people I have had the privilege to photographed this year.  Families, friends, special moments…this is what I love about photography…the connections.  Thank you to all my family and friends for your support.  I want to also send out a special thank you to Cathi Bosco who has been incredibly supportive and helpful over this past year.  I send out a blessing for all of us…to have love in our hearts, compassion for others,  always find the delicate balance with life’s ebbing and flowing and most of all a healthy new year for all.

As the seasons have changed into the time of leaves drifting and the precious light filtering softly through the trees…it is also the time to remember how grateful we are for the little moments.  Time to give thanks for the moments throughout the year spent with family and friends, reaching out to others, sharing from our hearts.  During this time of Thanksgiving…I want to share my appreciation to all that have touched my life this past year.  Truly a time filled with love and abundance.  Gratitude is a precious gift to share.  Many thanks.
