Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 4-5pm.

This class will be open to anyone interested in sharing an hour talking about photography.  We will talk about the changes in the photography world influenced by the abundance of technology and access to images.

The main portion of the talk will be about…what inspires us…why do we want to make photos…what makes a good photo. We will also talk about the basics…f/stops and shutter speeds and most important LIGHT! Whether you use film or digital, the basic functions of the camera are the same. The hour will be interactive and fun focused on photography.  Hopefully the participants will be inspired to explore the beautiful light of summer time with their cameras.

Double Take: Photo & Fiber

Rosemary DeLucco-Alpert and Sisters in Cloth

Guilford Free Library

July 1- 31, 2011

A group of Shoreline fiber artists known as Sisters in Cloth has collaborated with Guilford photographer, Rosemary DeLucco-Alpert, to create the exhibit Double Take:  Photo & Fiber.  The exhibit, fresh from its Spring installation at Yale’s Haskins Laboratory, will be on display at the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park Street, from July 1-July 30, 2011

Double Take is a unique concept, consisting of 15 photographs and 15 art quilts.  DeLucco-Alpert’s photographs of flowers have long been a favorite of Shoreline art collectors, and served as inspiration for the fiber artists.  Each artist chose a photograph and created two pieces of fiber art as a response.  Some focused on the colors and textures of the photos, while others captured the mood and essence of the flowers.

The final exhibit is an abundance of color, texture, unique patterns, and a “garden of inspiration”.

The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception being held at the Guilford Free Library on

Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 5:30-7:30.

The exhibit may be viewed during library hours.

Wishing Moon!

Thursday, June 16th, 2011

Last night the moon was amazing, as it rose it was a true peach color, so clear and vibrant.  I always thought the full moon in June was called the Rose Moon or Strawberry Moon, both sound perfect to me! Roses and Strawberries are a great combination. Someone told me last night as we were savoring the view that this moon is called the Wishing Moon and it is filled with amazing energy.  I hope you had the opportunity to see the moon last night.  Another reason to love June!

Now is the time to start thinking about capturing the treasured moments of the summer.  I am booking dates for family portraits, children, reunions, engagement and weddings, any special moments you would like to have photographed. My style is comfortable and relaxed, capturing the moments with ease.  It would be a pleasure to share time this summer or fall photographing your treasures!

Here’s a good reason to take a trip to the Guilford Green on a beautiful June day like today! I just hung a selection of photography at a special gathering spot in the heart of Guilford, Cilantro’s Specialty Food, 85 Whitfield Street.  Stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, and look at summer photos.  Cilantro’s is another location that sell my photo card line Intimate Landscapes.   This Saturday June 11th I will be joining Rebecca and Rob Bunting for an Open Studio afternoon, 133 Whitfield Street,  right down from Cilantro’s.  The studio barn will be open from 10am – 4pm, selling  photos, amazing jewelry, and garden sculptures.  This will be during the Secret Garden Tour of Guilford that supports the ABC program.   Put it on your calendar!  Stop by and say hello…Happy June!
